Subscription services everywhere are raising their prices these days, and the adult industry is no exception. There are many benefits to a subscription-based fan platform, but it might feel like a challenge to increase your prices after a while. Running a fan page takes lots of time and energy, so do not feel bad about asserting your worth! Here are some tips and tricks on how to raise your prices without lowering your number of subscribers.

Be Opportunistic

You might ask yourself, “Things are going fine, why charge more now?” Contrary to popular belief, when business is going well, it’s the perfect time to raise prices. Why? It means your audience is engaged and understands the value of what you offer. People subscribe to your page because they love your content and they want more. If your page has been steady and you feel like your effort is worth more, then there is no time like the present to raise your subscription price. It will feel much easier to make the change now at your current number of subs instead of when your page has grown even more.

Offset the Increase

When you raise your subscription price, there’s a chance that some subscribers might not feel like they’re getting their money’s worth anymore. But there’s a simple solution to this! Distract your audience from the price increase with something shiny and new. For instance, if you plan to start offering B/G content or cater to a new fetish, consider introducing that content along with the price increase. But if you simply feel like increasing your rates without making any long-term changes to your page, offering exclusive rewards (such as a bonus video or photoset) to your fans for remaining subscribed will help with retention as you transition to your new price.

Offer New Options

When it comes to changing costs, it always feels better to have choices, so why not extend that same courtesy to your subscribers? Instead of requiring your existing subscribers to pay the new rate immediately, give them pricing options. Explain that they can continue to pay month-to-month at the new increased rate or continue paying the current rate if they purchase multiple months of a subscription at a time. By offering discounted subscription bundles, you give your subscribers a choice – and with that, you keep their business and their trust.

Reward Loyal Subscribers

When you raise your prices, make sure your current subscribers feel appreciated and feel that they are celebrating this win with you. You can do this by saying something like, “Due to XYZ, my prices will be going up. But for you, I will keep them the same. You can enjoy my content at the same price for the next [#] months.” Include the length of time that their subscription price will remain the same. Although the price will ultimately change, the feeling that they are special to you never will. If you have subs that tip you often or regularly buy your content, consider allowing them to be grandfathered into indefinitely paying the current rate.

Know Your Worth

It is important to remember that you control your prices, you control your narrative, and you control how your subscribers interact with you. Do not feel like you need to justify increasing your subscription price. It is completely up to you if you wish to share that your rent has gone up, or that you would like to treat yourself more often, and those subscribers who truly support you will understand.
